Privacy Policy

Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

Draft template. This policy has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Highlighted items must be completed or confirmed before the Bori apps launch.

1. Who we are

Bori (“Bori”, “we”, “us”) is provided by [COMPANY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal information, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].

2. What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit bori-language.app (the “website”) and when you use the Bori mobile apps for iOS and Android (the “apps”).

3. Information we collect

When you visit the website. The website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, or forms. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit to deliver the website and protect it against abuse.

Learning progress in the apps. Your learning progress and spaced-repetition review data are stored locally on your device. [Confirm whether any progress or account data is also stored on or synced to our servers; if so, describe what is stored and where.]

Purchases. Subscriptions and free trials are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive your full payment card details. We receive limited transaction information, such as your subscription status, to unlock paid features.

Analytics and diagnostics. [List every analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDK used in the apps, the data each one collects, and why. If none are used, say so.] On iOS, we only track you across other companies' apps and websites if you give permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Video content. [If the apps play clips through YouTube API Services, keep this paragraph:] The apps use YouTube API Services to show video clips. By watching those clips, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

4. How we use information

[Name the legal basis for each use (for example contract, legitimate interests, or consent) if you serve users in the EU, UK, or other regions that require it.]

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers that help us run Bori, under contracts that limit how they may use it:

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others. If Bori is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. How long we keep information

Data stored only on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app. We keep any other personal information only as long as needed to provide Bori and meet our legal obligations. When you ask us to delete your information, we do so within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep it. [Retention periods for any data we or our providers keep, such as support emails and server logs.]

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including HTTPS encryption for data in transit. [Confirm how stored data is protected, for example encryption at rest on servers or on the device.] No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and the CCPA, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain uses. To make a request, contact [CONTACT EMAIL]. You can delete learning data stored on your device by deleting the app. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings. If we send you marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email.

9. Children

Bori is not directed to children under [13 / 16], and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. [Describe the safeguards used, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, if you serve users in the EU or UK.]

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the apps.
